15 Feb 2010 | BMW Motorrad Australia and New Zealand has announced the arrival and pricing of the new BMW R 1200 RT, R 1200 GS and R 1200 GS Adventure.

The new models are due to enter BMW Motorrad showrooms this month, and all are powered by a 1170cc Boxer engine that's been specifically designed and built for higher engine speeds..

Like the power plant featured in the BMW HP2 Sport, the new flat-twin power unit in the BMW R 1200 RT, R 1200 GS and R 1200 GS Adventure comes with two overhead, chain-driven camshafts (DOHC) per cylinder.

Pricing of the new models remains stable compared to the previous model with a minimal price increase across the board reflective of the additional product substance.

The BMW R 1200 RT range commences at $30,000* (NZ $37,432) for the BMW R 1200 RT LS and is equipped as standard with factory Low Suspension, Radio, Chrome Exhaust, Automatic Stability Control (ASC), Tyre Pressure Control, Heated Grips, On Board Computer, Power Socket and Cruise Control.

Headlining the BMW R 1200 RT model range is the BMW R 1200 RT SE priced at $30,900* (NZ $38,555) and is fitted standard with normal suspension height, Electronic Suspension Adjustment (ESA) and Seating Heating over the BMW R 1200 RT LS model.

The new BMW R 1200 RT is available is Polar metallic, Ostra Grey metallic matt, Thunder Grey metallic and multi-colour paintwork incorporating Thunder Grey, Titan Silver and Granite Grey metallic.

The iconic BMW R 1200 GS commences at $21,925* (NZ $27,356) and arrives standard with Chrome Exhaust, Heated Grips, Hand Protectors, On Board Computer, Pannier fastenings and white LED indicators. Optionally available is Electronic Suspension Adjustment (ESA), Enduro ASC, Integral ABS, Tyre Pressure Control and Alarm.

The BMW 1200 GS Adventure is priced from $26,950 and is standard with Additional Fog Lights, Hand Protectors, Enduro Transmission, Off Road Tyres, Cross Spoke wheels, Chrome Exhaust, Heated Grips, On Board Computer, Pannier Fastenings and white LED indicators. Optionally available is Electronic Suspension Adjustment (ESA), Enduro ASC, Integral ABS, Tyre Pressure Control and Alarm.

The BMW R 1200 GS is available in four colours: Alpine White non-metallic, Magma Red non-metallic, Ostra Grey matt metallic and Sapphire Black metallic whilst the BMW R 1200 GS Adventure is available in Smoke Grey matt metallic and Brilliant Yellow metallic.
