09 Jun 2010 | Lap record, top qualifier and two race wins. Not a bad way to end a weekend's racing efforts particularly given it's only the second outing on a new bike.

This comes on the back of some solid results in their first outing in Darwin where they'd managed to sneak inside the top ten in the Superbike class on a practically standard bike, with essentially no testing. With the bike in Superstock trim and unable to get a fix on when parts will be available, the team decided to continue development but switch to the Superstock class in the interim which truly reflected the performance of the BMW S 1000 RR and the team. In doing so, they still managed to finish 6th and 7th outright, nudging a top 5 finish, and were also the first Superstock bike to get into the superpole shootout in the history of superpole.

Craig Coxhell:
"It's a great result for us and shows what the bike is really capable of. The team's working great this year, everyone settling in nicely and working well together under Radar's direction and its showing on the track. To be finishing ahead of factory Superbikes on a Superstock spec bike is just awesome. The bike is literally what you get from the showroom with some suspension work and an Akrapovic pipe bolted on; and to smash the lap record by 1.2 seconds on it when we still have plenty of development work to do, shows its potential. Down the back straight on Friday I think we had the 2nd fastest trap speed against all the heavily modified superbikes!

"Today's racing was great fun, race 1 I was under pressure pretty much all race long and managed to hold out 6th place and race 2 I actually made the wrong tyre choice and we went backwards - we had the pace to be running with Sean (Giles, Team Suzuki) and going for a top 5 result, so hopefully next round when we're back here we'll know a bit more about which tyres work for us and which ones don't and we can give the factory boys even more of a fright. I might even have to continue with my pre-race ice cream regime, it seemed to work today!"

Rob Coxhell:
"I couldn't be happier, I don't think you could have scripted our first two outings much better really. We've closed the gap to the guys in the top 5 of the Superbike class and hopefully with this under our belt we can move forward again at the next round. We came here to get the first podium for BMW in Australia on the new S 1000 RR and we've done it. The last win was in 77 at the Castrol 6 hour I believe so it's been a while between drinks for them and they deserve the accolades. It's a great package."
