Motorcycling Australia's Rider Division is running a celebration of women in motorcycling this long weekend, at Yackandandah in country Victoria.The organisation says: Scheduled for the 2012 Australia Day long weekend held over 27-29 January, female riders are invited to attend this event to be held at picturesque Yackandandah in Victoria's north - and celebrate the contribution of women to Australia's motorcycle riding history.
From motorcycle competition to pioneering adventures, from outback touring to sheep mustering, women have been part of the rich tapestry of motorcycling for as long as motorcycles have been in use.
This event aims to recognise these contributions and achievements by providing an opportunity to get together for no other reason than simple pride and a passion for motorcycles.
